Name and how long you have been in the industry
My name is Rana Helou, and I have been in the biomed HTM field getting into the 13th year.
What is your biggest accomplishment and/or proudest moment of your career?
My biggest accomplishment is not giving up on my dreams to get to where I want to be in the HTM field. Every obstacle was a learning curve for me to shape myself. The goal is to help others that have a passion for the field grow and get to where they want to be.
The proudest moment in my career is when I saw my hard work in the hospital bring positive feedback, more awareness, and make the patient and staff experience much more convenient.
What does this TechNation Award nomination mean to you?
The TechNation Award nomination means the world to me. It will always remind me that hard word does pay off and determination and passion get you to where you want to be. It also makes me thankful to those that gave me a hand to get where I am and I need to do the same for others. Be humble and know that I was not born knowing it all. It took long nights and few tears, but I had supportive people around me.
What can we do as Women in HTM to help inspire others in the industry?
As Women in HTM we can continue to inspire others with our stories. Reach out to one another when help is needed. Continue to do activities that support each other and get that recognized on social media. Expand the field by showing how the different branches in HTM combine to making a domino affect to become a leaders by breaking barriers.
