The Intersection: From Running Tracks to Boardrooms

The connection between Girls on the Run (GOTR) and Women in Leadership (WIL) is both natural and necessary. The empowerment journey does not begin when a woman applies for a promotion, it begins when a girl first believes in her potential. GOTR plants this belief early, helping girls internalize the idea that leadership is not only for others- it’s for them.

Many of today’s female leaders often credit early mentors, supportive communities, or programs that helped them see beyond conventional roles. Programs like GOTR are cultivating this new narrative: one in which girls grow up seeing leadership as attainable and desirable, not exceptional.

Likewise, WIL initiatives benefit from a rising generation of women who have been taught to lead with confidence, integrity, and compassion from a young age. By supporting GOTR, WIL programs ensure a steady flow of bold, capable women ready to take on the world’s biggest challenges.
