Name and how long you have been in the industry
Hi, my name is Brandi Caton and I have been in the HTM community coming up on 9 years.

What is your biggest accomplishment and/or proudest moment of your career?
The accomplishment I am most proud of would be either some of the projects I was able to assist with when I was working with the researchers at Mayo Clinic FL or being entrusted with the role of supervisor for the 2nd largest UNC hospital. It has been a big undertaking the last, almost 3 years.

What does this TechNation Award nomination mean to you?
I see a lot of the industry’s biggest names in the TechNation nominations; I see people that have a large social media presence, or have been in the industry a long time. So, for me to be recognized as someone who has just pushed heavily for patient safety and integrity of work, it brings a sense of validation that we are still focused on the most important thing, patient safety.

What can we do as Women in HTM to help inspire others in the industry?

I believe that we as Women in HTM can bring support and validation to other women in the industry. This industry is still very heavily male dominated, and I think that younger and/or new-to-the-industry women can really find comfort in seeing a network of women to help lead and teach them to be the best version of themselves and the best Biomed/HTM techs they can be. I think it comes from a place of comfort and support to know that there are other women who want to uplift you and want to see you succeed and advance.
